Trips to Africa
Experience the beauty and hope of Africa, and join firsthand help in the form of children’s camps, educational programs, work projects, and more.
Throughout the year, teams of 6 to 12 from the USA, United Kingdom, and Canada travel to Africa on a 3—week mission to serve alongside Music for Life programs. Opportunities vary from country to country, but education for children and adults alike is always emphasized.
A key focus for most MFL Teams is camp. In fact, the teams and their community-oriented camps have built quite a reputation over the years. Scheduled during their semester holiday, camp is 3 to 5 days of daily activities and interactive education where Africa’s most vulnerable children can forget about their daily hardships and just be a kid!
Apply your skills in music, dance, crafts, science, health and wellness, or sports and games to provide children with mentorship and faith development, presented in the form of assemblies, group games, and activity stations. Most teams facilitate 2 camps per trip, with 50 to 250 children each day! Camp positively impacts the entire community as family and friends join in.
Rally together a team from your community or church and join us in Africa! Please note, some trips are better suited for individual applicants; any trip is open to complete teams. We especially welcome complete teams to Uganda.

Relief & Development Course
Combining classroom teaching, guest speakers, and hands-on practical experience in the field, participants will learn, live, and serve within Music for Life’s projects and their surrounding communities. Western students will be partnered with local young adult students, for a cultural exchange and fullest possible learning experience! This is truly a taste of what it is like living and working in the Relief and Development field!
Each course is split into 2 modules, lasting 4 weeks per module. Participants have the option of attending one or both modules. A week for personal travel experience is included per module. Topics featured by local relief workers/speakers will include current development trends, international initiatives, project management and leadership, gender and age studies, and more!
Applicants should be at least 18 yrs old, be willing to cover/raise all costs for the program, and have a heart for learning. Music for Life welcomes students currently enrolled in a post-secondary institute wishing to add this to their studies.
