Child Protection Policy

Music for Life Child Protection Policy

Music for Life and the African Children’s Choir views building relationships between the children and the staff/volunteers who interact and care for them as pivotal to the success of its work.

The following policies are meant to assist in more clearly defining appropriate behaviors and practices to permit staff/volunteers a more appropriate and rich demonstration of love and compassion for the vulnerable children entrusted to this organization.   Please do not interpret any of these policies as undermining the importance of personal interaction and close relationships.

All staff/volunteers interacting and/or working directly with the children must read, carefully consider, agree to and comply with the Child Protection Policy before working with or interacting with the children involved in Music for Life programs.

It is the policy of Music for Life and the African Children’s Choir to provide a high standard of welfare and protection for the children in its care. All efforts will be made to protect them from physical, emotional and sexual abuse and/or neglect.

Music for Life/African Children’s Choir reserves the right to suspend or dismiss a staff/volunteer member at any time if that person is found to have involvement in any type of abuse or violation of these policies, and will report all involvement in any type of abuse to the relative authorities for investigation.
