Growing up with a drunkard father who was never there for me during my childhood made it very hard for me to love and trust anybody as a child. My mother struggled to raise the three of us sometimes sleeping hungry with no hope for a better tomorrow.
My dad had been given a small one day job at the head offices of Music for Life to slash and clean the compound. Coming along with him was the greatest opportunity a girl of 5 years could get. During that time Choir 16 was training for tour and I had never seen music that good. Filled with excitement, inspiration hit me and I joined the front row and tagged along with the rest of the choir. That’s how I joined the African Children’s Choir and my life changed forever.
Now at the age of 20 I have been educated through primary, secondary and now studying Law at Makerere University thanks to Music for Life ministry. I also volunteer in the Music for Life centers as a team leader of Eden School Bukoto. The objective of Music for Life centers is to reach out to the disadvantaged children uplifting and empowering them through the stimulation of performing arts. Through the Music for Life centers I give back to the community and the organization that made me who I am today.
Lots of thanks to all those who believe and support Music for Life organization In helping Africa’s most vulnerable children today so they can help Africa tomorrow. Your contributions have made a long term positive change in the lives of many children like me.
