Welcome

A Child in the Choir

The African Children’s Choir™ is the ambassador for Africa’s neediest, most vulnerable children.

The Choir shows the world that its members, like the millions of abandoned and traumatised children in Africa, have beauty, dignity and unlimited potential.

Help to Start a Choir

Starting a new Choir on the road results in a long list of supplies, ranging from tooth-brushes to Choir uniforms.

We have put together a list of items that are needed to by a new Choir. You may purchase any of these from our store page, and help the Choir to share their message with so many others.

The history of the Choir in 3 and a half minutes

The African Children’s Choir™ has been helping Africa’s most vulnerable children since 1984. Since this is our 25th anniversary year, we put together this short video to tell the story of the Choir over all these years. In it you can see our first choir performing and some of the children who have sucessfully passed through this wonderful program.

To enjoy this video, you need to have Adobe Flash V9 or greater installed in your browser. You can download this for free from Adobe.com.

If you have enjoyed this video, share the story of the Choir with your friends, become a fan of our Facebook page and checkout our volunteer opportunities

Volunteers Needed

Have you thought about spending time with the Choir as a Volunteer. We still have a number of positions available to travel and volunteer with the Choir. To find out more, checkout our Volunteer Page.

Volunteering with the Choir is a life-changing experience. These amazing children teach one so much, even at their young ages.

Relief and Development Course

Music for life has developed a Relief and Development course that we will be offering for the first time in June (June 28 thru July 25).

The course is composed of 2 modules and each module runs for 4 weeks, thus a total of 8 weeks for the course, which is offered in Kenya

Classroom teaching, guest speakers and hands–on practical work make up the bulk of the course, which provides an ideal way for students from the west to experience what it really is like living and working in the Relief and Development Field

For more information, check out the course summary or contact us directly through our feedback form.

CNNI Inside Africa

CNN International made a wonderful documentary on the Choir for Inside Africa that aired in January. For those of you who missed it, you can watch the entire documentary right here.

We hope to be able to tell the story of the Choir in a compelling video soon, to checkout this project have a look at the blog for TheFilm
